Let’s keep it real for a second…
One of the biggest LIES in football training is that you need the newest gear, top-of-the-line equipment, or some fancy indoor facility just to get better as a defensive lineman. 🧢
Truth is:
I didn’t have that coming up. And a lot of you don’t either.
But guess what? That NEVER stopped me from improving — and it shouldn’t stop you either.
You don’t need big-time resources to become a big-time player.
You need creativity, effort, and a purpose behind your training.
So here’s your first tip in a new series I’m launching to help you build elite technique on a budget ⬇️
🗑️ Trash Cans = Elite Pass Rush Trainer
Want to fix your wide, looping pass rush path and stop getting pushed past the QB?
Train the Step-Through Technique using nothing but trash cans.
Here’s how:
✅ Set up the cans as if they’re O-linemen
✅ Work your go-to rush move and step through with your inside foot
✅ Keep your rush path tight — NO banana loops!
✅ Focus on cutting off recovery angles and getting to the QB FAST
Why this works:
Too many guys swing around the edge and lose the angle.
When you step through instead of around, you stay tighter, get there quicker, and actually finish your rush.
💰 Cost?
Free if you’ve got access to some trash cans.
Maybe $40 tops if you’re buying a few from a hardware store.
You don’t need money — you need movement.
Let’s get better every day.
